On Mother's Day 2003, we found out we're going to have another baby! I had gone to the doctor in SC to investigate having Weight Loss surgery. Back in December, I had a miscarriage (December 23rd! And we had to wait until December 26th to have a D&C! TOUGH!) so I hadn't really planned to get pregnant again until I had surgery and lost 60lbs or so. WELL... I went for my inital appointment, decided to do it and was scheduled to go back that afternoon to take a psychological profile.
I stopped to buy a pregnancy test before I paid the doctor my $2500. No sense in paying them if I was pregnant. Well, I waited a short while to see if it turned to a + but I was in a hurry. I stuck it in my bag and headed off to my appointment. That was on a Thursday. That Sunday - Mother's Day, I remembered to clean out my bag from my trip. It was about 10PM and I pulled out that pregnancy test with 2 lines and almost fainted! I figured since it had been a few days it could be wrong, so I took the other one. It was positive too! I even bought 2 more that next morning and they were positive too!
At this moment I'm about 16 weeks and doing great. Being diabetic, I have a lot of concerns and things to watch -- but so far so good. I have an ultrasound (again) on 8/12 and I should find out then if its a boy or a girl! I can't wait. In the meantime, here are some early ultrasound pictures.
Josh and MacKenzie are both excited - Josh wants a brother ("because girls are a pain in the butt") and MacKenzie wants a sister ("so I can teach her ballet"). ::giggle:: As soon as possible, I'm going back for the surgery -- I can't wait!
